About

We are a non-political, non-profit, civic organisation whose members care about good governance in our area and our offices are located in the town of Somerset West.

As a representative body we rely on public support in order that the Executive Committee, as volunteers, can represent the interests of the ratepayers and residents of the area in an ever increasing number of forums.

The association comprises of members from the community and is a constitutionally registered body with the Municipal Administration. The responsibility of serving the community rests on a group of dynamic volunteers, each with their own portfolio’s.

The membership of the HRAA is constantly growing, so too is the expertise in the various and diverse fields covered by a representative body of this nature. The associations experience and stature is underpinned by an ever increasing interest on the part of the local residents in local affairs.

The dedication of the steering committee together with the community awareness of the residents, has resulted in the formation of a formidable and committed Executive Committee and an ever increasing number of specialists who we can count on for their input and assistance on various issues.

Committee members are your neighbours. They donate their valuable time, energy and resources to look after the interests of the Somerset West residents and ratepayers.

The association relies on residents support and urges you to become members, that we may continue to look after your interests and to ensure that the HRAA remains an authentic and powerful representative body.

The HRAA, by welcoming the wealth of diverse expertise found within the community has grown from strength to strength, resulting in strategic partnerships with like minded interest groups.
